Mulberry Bush Montessori in Killearn is located on the main street of Killearn and is a single story, bright, purpose designed building with large floor to ceiling windows to the front and rear of the building. There is ample car parking space for dropping off and collecting your child either immediately on the main street directly outside the nursery building or across the road in the Village Hall car park.
Mulberry Bush Montessori is open from Monday to Friday; 8am to 6pm and closes for a week at Christmas and New Year. We undertake to email parents well in advance of the dates we close. We consult with our children about the snacks and drinks we provide them with. Parents are asked to provide a cold packed lunch for their child. We provide our children with a light afternoon snack which they are involved in preparing with us.
We ask that parents of babies/toddler supply the necessary pre-prepared milk or solids as well as keeping us in a regular supply of nappies and wipes for your child. We ask that parents please mark all your child’s belongings clearly with their name to avoid things going missing or getting mixed up.
We suggest that because of the very nature of the kind of activities that your children will be involved in when they are with us, that you dress them in their play clothes please! We ask that parents provide soft-soled shoes for indoors that not only help to keep the dirt from outside, outside but keeps the rooms in which your child work, at a quiet industrious level . We get outside every day as part of our curriculum with the children and we have no weather permitting clause! We invite parents to please ensure that you provide waterproof suits and welly-boots for your child every day either in your child’s green Mulberry Bush Montessori bag, or on your child’s peg. We also go on regular excursions and outings with your child and for that we recommend that you purchase one of our Mulberry Bush Montessori sweat shirts which are mandatory for outings. These can be purchased in the office.
Your child will be encouraged to be involved in as many independent activities as possible that involve water, sand, playdough, paint, glue and so on. We recommend that your child always has a change of clothing in the event of them getting wet or messy. A handy green bag is provided for each child to keep its belongings safe and tidy.
We encourage parents to keep in close contact with staff daily and weekly.
We invite parents to participate in our Parent Partnership Group that meets quarterly.
